ANTI-AGING CLEANSERS

Your cleanser is assigned to do one, very simple job: clean your skin.

Many people often question its importance. Cleanser is realistically only on your skin for 5-10 seconds, then rinsed away with water. So who should care if you use a bar of soap, a cleanser with foaming properties, or maybe a cleanser that’s medicated? YOU SHOULD.

Although cleansing your skin is a short process, the “type” of clean you experience from the product you use will lay the foundation for how effective all products applied after it will be to your skin. You want to make sure your cleanser doesn’t take more from your skin than it should. Stripping skin of its oils leaves you feeling too dry, whereas leaving an oily residue on your face and not providing that proper balance isn’t creating a good base for all products applied after it.

Before choosing a cleanser: Evaluate your skin type. You may have normal, oily, dry, combination or sensitive skin. Remember to re-evaluate your skin care products frequently as your skin type can change at different stages in your life. Owning more than one cleanser isn’t a strange thing to do at all.  Our skin changes over time based on hormones, stress, medications or other factors that might mean alternating cleansers during those times is necessary.

A little more advice: It’s not crucial to choose a cleanser based on your age. The truth is that most cleansers do not include anti-aging ingredients in their formulations, as this is not a step in the skin care routine that is left to penetrate into deeper layers of your skin. Because of its short life cycle and being washed away with water, what matters about cleanser is how effective it is for your skin type and how it makes your skin feel after using it.

What should cleansing do? Remove dirt, bacteria and dead skin cells. It should also restore your skin’s pH levels, balancing extremes of oiliness or dryness.

When do you use cleanser? Morning and night. You use it in the morning to remove any residue left over from products used the night before. You also use it at night to clean your face of oils, dirt, and make-up applied and collected throughout the day. The first and most important step in an anti-aging regimen is finding and using a good cleanser.

Are you using the proper cleanser for your skin type?  If you’re experiencing any of the following after cleansing your face, chances are good it’s time to think about changing your cleanser:

  • Rashes or bumps
  • Drying or flaking
  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Excessive oiliness
  • Breakouts
  • Tightening

After cleansing, the goal is for your skin to feel soft and smooth. Make sure skin is dry before applying the next products in your routine. Reminder to pat your skin dry – don’t rub as it can lead to irritation and stretching, which may cause unnecessary wrinkles.

Here’s a look at the two different types of Pamela Metamorphosis Cleansers that customers can’t stop raving about.

Sensitive Skin Cleanser

Don’t let the name mislead you. Sensitive Skin Cleanser is an effective cleanser for all skin types. It gives off a small, concentrated amount of suds, which help easily remove the make-up and debris on the surface of your skin. It is a soothing, cream-like cleanser that causes a “type of clean” that people love so much it’s one of our best sellers. Read our customer reviews to see what people are saying. Our Sensitive Skin Cleanser is formulated with main ingredients like: Soybean Oil, Kelp Extract, Orange Peel Oil and Grapefruit Peel Oil.

Papaya Cleanser

Oily skin types have met their match. There are a few unique ingredients that, when combined, make our cleanser different from all other oily skin cleansers on the market. The first is that it is formulated with salicylic acid. Salicylic acid makes its way down into the pores to clean them out and prevent the formation of blackheads and breakouts. This is especially true in the oiliest part of our face the “T-Zone”. People with combination skin types also love this cleanser! While there is no doubt that salicylic acid is a common ingredient in oily skin cleansers, it’s the pairing with other ingredients in the formulation that make it work harder for your skin. Like papaya fruit extract, for example. Papaya extract helps to digest debris on your skin so you don’t have to harshly scrub your face, neck, and chest, causing unnecessary irritation. This cleanser is also formulated with Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme found primarily in the stems of pineapples. It has excellent anti-inflammatory and healing properties that make it a great fit for those with oily or acne prone skin.

Pamela’s tip:

By using the proper cleanser for your skin type, you’re starting each morning and night with a clean canvas. This will allow any of the next steps in your skin care routine (especially anti-aging products) to work to their maximum potential.
