We Found A Green Smoothie Recipe For A Healthy St. Patrick’s Day

 

We love celebrating the holidays just as much as the next person. If you’re health-minded, however, the holidays can sometimes feel like a way to derail your routine, rather than a joyful experience. Instead of being torn between indulgence and avoidance, we like to think there is a happy medium.

With that in mind, we think there is more than one way to be green this St. Patrick’s Day. That’s why we found the perfect green smoothie recipe. We know that sometimes even the thought of green smoothies can feel cringe-inducing because, well, who really wants to put spinach into their smoothie? For those of you that may be turned off by green smoothies, trust us when we say this recipe is a game changer. As an extra bonus, this recipe is a perfect way to detox after a fun-filled St. Patrick’s Day.

Luck of the Irish Green Smoothie

1/2 banana
2 stems of kale
1 handful of spinach
2 Tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup almond milk (or protein milk of your choice)
1/4 cup greek yogurt
Pinch of Spirulina
1/2 scoop of crushed ice

Bonus: Add dark chocolate chips to the top for a special treat!

Mix all ingredients in the blender. Pour in glass and serve!

Keep in mind that the better your blender, the better your smoothie. We’re all fans of the Ninja Blender around here, but smoothies are hard to mess up. You can even add more ingredients if you want to mix it up. And that’s it! This smoothie helps you get a healthy dose of greens, antioxidants and is yummy as well.
