7 Foods To Eat When You Want Great Skin

You’ve probably heard the old cliche “beauty comes from within.”

Well, when it comes to your skin there is a lot of truth to it. What you eat can directly impact your skin’s health. That’s why it’s important to eat foods that are nutrient dense in ingredients designed to give you glowing skin. We’ve made a set list of all the Pam approved foods for great skin.

We’re big advocates for using antioxidants in our skin care products, so it would follow suit that we think you should include them in your diet as well. Blueberries are packed full of antioxidants (Vitamin A in particular). This helps normalize the oil in your skin and has the added benefit of clearing up your acne. They also make a great late night snack if you’re looking for something healthy to munch on.

Bone Broth:

If you’re up to date on your wellness trends, you’re probably noticed that bone broth is having a moment. That’s probably due to the fact that bone broth has so many benefits for your health. When it comes to your skin, the collagen and amino acids found in bone broth is great for your skin’s elasticity.

We’ll look for any excuse to eat more sushi. Oily fish, such as salmon, are full of omega 3s. These are what people like to refer to as “good fats.” Omega 3s help control oil production that will in turn boost hydration, prevent acne, and even delay wrinkles. They also help you with inflammation, a known skin vexer.

Fermented Foods:

Over the years we’ve seen more and more research in regards to the importance of gut health. Fermented Foods help maintain your gut’s health. They also predigest your food so that the nutrients are more readily available for your skin and other organs. Consider adding kimchi, sauerkraut, or kefir into your diet. It might also be a good idea to swap out that daily latte with your favorite kombucha every now and again.

Popeye might have been on to something with this one. Spinach and other dark leafy greens are full of sulfur compounds that help naturally detoxify the body. This helps keep your skin clear and radiant. Looking for quick green fix? Just throw a handful of spinach into your morning smoothie!

Sunflower Seeds:

Your grandpa’s favorite snack is back and you need to get on board. Loaded with Vitamin E, eating sunflower seeds daily helps improve the overall quality of the skin. The top layer of the skin’s epidermis contains high levels of Vitamin E that help guard the outer membrane. The more Vitamin E you take in, the stronger your skin will become, leaving it healthy and hydrated.

We’re all about adopting simple, every day practices you can implement for a better overall well being. For many people, drinking warm lemon water in the morning is just the kick they need to jump start their day. Lemons are full of Vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps fight the free radicals that can damage our skin.
