How to Give Your Skin A Break This Weekend

How to Give Your Skin A Break This Weekend

Yes. That’s right. Today we’re telling you to take full advantage of the wonder that is: three-day weekend.

Suddenly breaking out? Dark circles under your eyes? Whether you feel it or not, your skin might be telling you that you’re stressed. Cortisol, otherwise known as the stress hormone, can wreak havoc on your skin. Anxiety and stress are all interconnected with skin concerns.

So what is your skin telling you? While occasional flare ups are nothing to worry about, they are a sign your skin is in need of something. As the wise Vanilla Ice once said, “All right stop, collaborate, and listen.” Indeed, you should listen.

Labor day weekend is a chance to reset. Just as much as you need a break, so does your skin. Follow these steps to prep your skin for the fall (it’s coming faster than we think!).

Long-weekend skin care routine:

Friday night:
Remove makeup before bed (this is a MUST!)
Cleanse the skin
Apply your favorite moisturizer

Did you wake with tired eyes? Let’s treat that. Apply your favorite eye serum and moisturizer and take care of this delicate area.
Maybe this means you take a break from makeup – whether it be one or all of the following: eyeshadow, eyeliner or mascara (but if you can’t live without mascara, we get it!)

They call it Sunday funday for a reason. Have a favorite? Go for it. Trying something new? Go for it. Our only caution, is don’t over do it and let your skin breathe.

Monday Night
Monday is maskday. Need a recommendation? Try our Enzyme Exfoliating Mask packed with papaya enzymes that help unclog the skin (you can work on unclogging your mind on your own).
It’s important to use ingredients like antioxidants and enzymes to gently exfoliate and detox the skin.

Skin care is not just a way to check in with your skin, but to check in with yourself. There is nothing like sitting back with a glass of wine, putting on a face mask, and bingeing your favorite Bravo show.

So sit back, relax, and open something bubbly. The weekend starts now!
